OK, one of them is more of a bullshit double standard.
The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.
The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount.
‘Cuz we’re just flush with cash here, right?
You see, exploration and drilling here is bad, according to Team Lightbringer. Why? Because the hippies say so.
You see kids, the first crucial step in freeing ourselves from dependence on foreign oil is to take money we don’t have and invest heavily in-DRUM ROLL PLEASE-foreign oil!
I swear they’re using an opposite definition dictionary at the White House.
Again, I may have been reading all of the news of the past year wrong, but I was under the impression that we we’re in dire need of creating jobs here in the U.S. I’m no business and finance expert but I’m willing to bet the eight cents I have left to my name that the exploration, drilling and production of domestic oil sources might add a job or two to this imploding economy.
We’ve now reached the point where the average Obama administration approach to anything would elicit a “WTF?!?!?” from a third-grader.
The Soros/Petrobras connection should be shocking but I’m getting used to the Obama special interest bed growing at a faster rate than the deficit. His next campaign slogan is “Special Interests For Me, But Not For Thee”.
Back to the hippies.
Remember all of that arctic ice that was supposed to melt and float the polar bears through your living room?
This continues the Eco-Nazi pattern of doing a chicken little dance in order to get onerous legislation passed (or sovereignty sucking international agreements signed) then backing away from the “science” with a minimum of fanfare from the complicit press. A chunk of Bloato Gore’s “Incontinent Truth” was debunked yet remains in the movie and gets annual play in public schools all over the country.
These people shouldn’t be in charge of their own weed stash, let alone the entire country.
Well, at least it’s safe to shop at Whole Foods now that the patchoulis are pouting.

Does the stimulus bill include domestic oil exploration and extraction? You don’t mention looking into that.
I think Brazil is in financial chaos, they have trouble funding serious work like that, and the US is exchanging some stability for some of the oil should it be found, in a few years. Some of those oil jobs in Brazil are best handled by folks with lots of experience, like Americans.
By contrast, the Chinese have been heavily investing in Africa for at least a decade, developing resource partnerships, and the Chinese economy is Not in perfect condition either.
