Like I said in the last post, it must be driving Team Lightbringer a little nuts that they can’t issue knee pads to the overseas press.
The White House’s extraordinary assault on the Fox News Channel will end in tears – and not for Rupert Murdoch, Fox’s owner. The Obama administration has embarked on a high-risk strategy of shooting the messenger, in effect blaming its plummeting poll ratings on alleged political bias at the number one 24-hour cable news network. As Anita Dunn, the Mao-quoting White House communications director put it in an interview with The New York Times:
“We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent. As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”
Perhaps I should begin referring to Team Lightbringer as Team Hubris. How else can one explain their belief that they can finally be the ones to win one of these pissing matches with Rupert Murdoch?
This is wrong on so many levels but its the Obama administration’s complete inability to see the obvious for the thousandth time in just a few short months that is so stunning. Remember, the dumb hick GWB Republicans are gone and the smartest political people in, like, the history of EVER are now in charge. Yet they all strike me as people who would stick forks in their eyes to see if they were pointy.
As Dunn’s statement illustrates, this is an overtly political campaign – and one that is doomed to failure, as it will ensure that even more Americans end up tuning in to Fox shows. The United States is a nation built around the principles of free speech, limited government, and free enterprise, and it is highly unusual for a US administration to launch an authoritarian vendetta against an individual news station. It smacks of mean-spiritedness as well as desperation, and is an approach that is already backfiring, with Fox’s ratings receiving an added boost from the huge publicity.
Once more, with feeling: authoritarian vendetta. How can any American not be thoroughly creeped out by the Obama administration’s frothing zeal for silencing dissent? It’s a tendency that Barack Obama the candidate exhibited and one of the main reasons that people like me knew that his “Hope and Change” spiel about a new tone in American politics was a pile of horses**t so monumentally huge that it attracted flies from other galaxies.
They know it’s antithetical to the precepts of freedom of the press laid out in the Constitution yet that matters not to them because pathological, narcissistic ambition can’t be bound by a mere document.
President Obama’s charisma is still so powerful that he has blinded the majority of the American press to the fact that they’re aiding and abetting their own demise by letting the White House play out this sick attack.
any attempt by the government to muzzle Fox is a threat to the freedom of all American news outlets, including liberal juggernauts such as The New York Times, NBC and CNN.
Perhaps an American White House reporter or two still peruses overseas newspapers and can have some sense sneak around the Obama barrier and wake them up.
Or they can continue to listen to the babbling geniuses of Team Lightbringer until none of it matters.
This article is so right on, but then so many things I’ve read in the foreign press are lately. I want to just scream at my fellow countrymen “TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS”.

We’re not all hopeless here, as stated by concerned citizen, many of us, obviously not enough, saw this coming in 2004 when Obama became the pet of the media. It’s simply mind boggling that, after Anita Dunn comes right out and declares the Whitehouse has control of the press, they control what the citizens get to see and hear, no questions unless under controlled circumstances, there are people who actually trust their conclusions based on the information they received from this controlled media. They’ve been told flat out that they are not receiving the whole truth, only the truth as presented by the Whitehouse, yet instead of insisting on getting all the information the want to silence anyone who disagrees with them. When people are forced to form conclusions based on controlled and limited information, they go from being citizens to sheep.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.

You have probably heard the famous quote, to paraphrase: “The American people will absolutely never allow Marxism/socialism/communism to be established in their country, but under the guise of “progressivism” they will unknowingly accept every tenet”. Let me share something that may not have seeped out clearly to the rest of the world because of our current crop of anemic sycophantic mainstream media “journalists”. The vast majority of the American people are still deeply and profoundly devoted to individual liberty and freedom. They have enormous respect for the founding fathers and would die defending the unprecedented bastion of freedom that they created with our miraculous constitution. In this age of information most are well aware of the tactics of the left and will counter and tenaciously defend and preserve their precious heritage of freedom and liberty. Millions upon millions of intensely patriotic Americans are scrutinizing every move that this administration makes. All of the shocking initiatives spewing forth from this, the most radical far left administration in U.S. history, are being vigorously confronted and WILL be stopped and/or contained by the massive eruption of an alarmed citizenry. The Democrats are going to be annihilated in the 2010 elections. This administration cannot attempt to implement policies derived from an ideology that nearly all Americans find repugnant without disastrous election consequences for the Democrats.

The Popular Rule of President Obama is unusually resilient and uniquely invested. A favorable media hedged its bets on the success of “their” president; to manipulate the masses that rode the wave of Obama affection to the voting booth. Hollywood adores him and the academic crowd champions his causes in scholarly papers and in the classrooms where they help mold the minds of our impressionable youth. The Popular Rule aims to silence dissent and ostracize those who attempt to disobey. The “cool crowd” has finally found their man and no one shoudl dare to challenge what they label as righteous, historic, or transcendent. Obama’s greatest weapon in his young administration was to yield this great power to manipulate the masses and he used it well with four prime time “press conferences” in his first seven months in office, behind the scenes looks into the confines of the White House, and daily interviews with mainstream media.
He has been given the support of those who teach and those who control the media. He has been given a mandate not granted through the voting booth but through his incredible popularity. It was a popularity that transcended race and economic demographics. It was fanatical and it was delusional; however, it could not be ignored – not by anyone that cared about the future of this nation. Some of the most oppressive leaders in history have risen to power on the coattails of similar popularity. A great many tyrants were cheered in similar regards as they rose to power. Those who wish to think of America in greater terms can only pray that the foundation of a similar movement wasn’t laid in the first few months of Obama’s reign over the Popular Rule.

This is the best piece I have read on the situation today. I am so tired of this administration trying to hide their chicanery, their past and their agenda from the American public and then having the unmitigated gall to complain when one network dares to air stories that don’t encase Obama and his staff in a surrealistic glow. But while European news groups currently express surprise over the actions of “Team Lightbringer” let’s not forget that they are the ones who announced he was The One and that gave his campaign legitimacy beyond what was merited by lauding him as leader before he was even elected. In that regard, our own media failed us by trying to emulate our European peers. I guess it was just a matter of being in with the in crowd at some level. But in doing so, the media failed to ask hard questions during the campaign, and only Fox seems interested in investigating the soft yellow underbelly of the real history of the Chicago Gang that inhabits the White House. Without Fox, we would only hear of the truth from the foreign press which is far more critical than anything Fox has dealt out. But I betcha Obama would meet with the BBC newsgroup before he would meet with anyone from Fox.
Charlatans are attempting to silence the critics. As more government control occurs, WE THE PEOPLE suffer. The FCC pawns have designs on our freedom of speech in order to control dissenting opinions. Anita Dunn admitted in an interview that the Obama administration rarely communicated with the media unless they had absolute control. It is so unfortunate that Obama and his staff can’t realize that while they hate Fox News numerous independent non partisan orgs found FOX to be the most objective. The credibility of the Obama Adminstration is questionable. When are WE THE PEOPLE going to hold the pundits accountable for their deplorable tactics.
