One would think (hope) that by now President Obama couldn’t reach any new lows with yet another display of crass, pathological narcissism.

Yes, this post is almost a day late (a lifetime in blog years). I read about President Facetime’s “shout out” yesterday but didn’t have the stomach to watch it. In fact, after the news about Ft. Hood broke I didn’t have much of a stomach for anything.

Viewing the video today, I was stunned at how remarkably clueless Barack Obama is. His complete lack of understanding of what an appropriate presidential response under those circumstances should have been leads me to question how in the hell he got out of high school, let alone Harvard Law. It’s good that his followers permanently suspend disbelief and deal with him as a mythical figure because yesterday he managed to be an utter failure as a Commander in Chief, a president and a human being.

Any hardcore Obama devotees who wish to defend the three minutes it took him to get around to the other news should first contact a chiropractor because they’re going to have to bend over backwards and twist themselves into knots to even begin. His behavior was disgusting and indefensible.

President Obama’s supporters are forever using the word “thoughtful” when describing him. President Obama, on the other hand, is forever exhibiting thoughtless impulsiveness when he speaks. The Obama faithful don’t even bother to rationalize the disconnect between their story and his actions, they simply ignore it completely.

The problem here, kids, is that reality is a remarkably persistent bitch that always prevails over denial in the end. This inevitability wrecks marriages, families, businesses and a host of other things on an hourly basis. In this case, denial has given us a war time president who couldn’t muster an appropriately sympathetic response after a massacre at a military installation. The consequences of this load of denial hitting the fan could be cataclysmic.

Obama fans can speak of his intelligence and thoughtfulness all they want but it won’t mean a thing if the president’s behavior continues to be marked by ignorance and impulse.

I know, I know…it’s probably RACIST of me to ask that my president behave like an aware adult when commenting on a national tragedy.

But I am sick to death of having a made-for-TV myth running the country.

I want a president.
