Support for repeal of the new national health care plan has jumped to its highest level ever. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 63% of U.S. voters now favor repeal of the plan passed by congressional Democrats and signed into law by President Obama in March.

Prior to today, weekly polling had shown support for repeal ranging from 54% to 58%.

Every time the public sours on this trip down a dangerous, expensive alley, His Lightbringerliness tells us it’s merely because he hasn’t explained it well enough. If the numbers keep going in this direction we can expect the president to be giving speeches in his sleep for the next few months.

This is, of course, precisely why the Democrats wanted to pass the Health Care Reform bill before the public could find out all about it. It’s a disturbing time in America when our alleged representatives are deliberately railroading legislation that they are fully aware their constituents will hate. It becomes unconscionable when that legislation is not only opposed by the current constituents but will unfairly burden the future ones.

This kind of behavior would be criminal in any other business. While President Obama runs around wailing about Wall Street, Big Oil, Big Insurance and all of the other made-up enemies out there he presides over an out of control government that will poison the lives of the children he and the Democrats always pretend to be fighting for.

The president flippantly stated during the circle-jerk he called a health care summit, “That’s what elections are for,” which was basically his admission that he knew he was doing what he wanted to do with wanton disregard for the American people.

Now it’s time for those of us who aren’t drunk with Obama love to make sure those words haunt him.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue’s massive role in this election year.

The Botox Hag, of course, is safe in her left-of-Castro congressional district so she’s not asking her colleagues to make a sacrifice that she herself would. She’s an arrogant, power hungry mad woman whose primary concern is enacting onerous legislation that will expand the federal reach into our lives.

And she’s very much aware that she’s representing the fringe.

Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at the moment, will help the public

The single most grating aspect of progressive politics is the condescending “We know what’s best for you…” meme. To the Nancy Pelosis & Barack Obamas of American politics, the citizens are a mindless blob in need of full time bureaucratic supervision. Maybe it’s not that simple, they look at us as a cash hemorrhaging machine too.

Immediately after saying legislators should ignore voters and do what’s unpopular, Pelosi says:

We’re here to do the job for the American people.

Which is it, Grandma Nan? Ignore the people and do what you think is best or do what the American people want you to do? Are we having another one of your “episodes” here?

Pelosi and President Obama both know that any horrendous health care reform legislation they get passed will be almost impossible to repeal. We’ll be burdened with more government inefficiency that Democrats twenty years from now will tell us absolutely has to be fixed. That’s how the lefties stay in business. They get the federal government to create something then run it into the ground (Medicare, anyone?) then tell us that the only way to survive is to let them do it all over again.

We know the above scenario is not viable or sustainable but a group of people who couldn’t properly care for a pet hamster wants us to believe they’ve got it covered.

If they do get this passed, the freakin’ Xanax better be free.

After we pay for it with our taxes.

Or something.

How loud do the alarms have to get? There is an economic emergency in the country with millions upon millions of Americans riddled with fear and anxiety as they struggle with long-term joblessness, home foreclosures, personal bankruptcies and dwindling opportunities for themselves and their children.

The door is being slammed on the American dream and the politicians, including the president and his Democratic allies on Capitol Hill, seem not just helpless to deal with the crisis, but completely out of touch with the hardships that have fallen on so many.

While the nation was suffering through the worst economy since the Depression, the Democrats wasted a year squabbling like unruly toddlers over health insurance legislation. No one in his or her right mind could have believed that a workable, efficient, cost-effective system could come out of the monstrously ugly plan that finally emerged from the Senate after long months of shady alliances, disgraceful back-room deals, outlandish payoffs and abject capitulation to the insurance companies and giant pharmaceutical outfits.

The public interest? Forget about it.

Wait…Herbert’s complaining about Team Lightbringer’s obsession with health care while basically ignoring out of control unemployment? He condemns the Democrats in Washington for their lack of transparency and the fact that they’re ignoring what’s best for the citizens while plowing ahead with the president’s vanity project?

What is this guy, a FREAKIN’ TEABAGGER?

This is a truly historic moment as it marks the first time in two years that a New York Times Opinion page article was typed without the author’s lips being affixed to Barack Obama’s ass.

This outrage from those who used to be drunk on Hope and Change is pathetically predictable. The things that the president is doing to disappoint now were all evident to anyone who didn’t buy a ticket to the Cult of Personality Extravaganza back in 2008. What we’re seeing now are manifestations of Obama’s pathological narcissism and complete unpreparedness for the job, both of which were more than apparent to a lot of us back in the day. A year into it, he’s still as unprepared as ever. Why? Because his narcissism prevents him from making a critical assessment of his actions. He just blames Bush and schedules a town hall road trip so he can be soothed by the sound of his own voice.

Democrats have been twisting themselves in knots to make excuses for the president’s ineptitude to this point. Almost all of the excuses have involved the nefarious deeds of the “Just say no!” Republicans.

The bloom is WAY off this rose now, however. When the New York Times Opinion Page begins to echo a lot of what all of us crazy bitter-clinger tea party people were saying last summer while dragging down the tone of American political discourse it might be time to peek around for a flaw or two with the historic president.

Or they can just keep pretending. I seem to remember that was a plank in the Democratic party platform at the 2008 convention.

Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown has surged ahead of his Democratic opponent Martha Coakley, according to a new poll released Thursday night.

Brown leads Coakley by a margin of 50 percent to 46 percent, the Suffolk University/WHDH-TV poll found. It is the first poll to show Brown, who had been thought a long-shot underdog, leading the race.

It raises the possibility of an historic political upset in Massachusetts.

It also raises the possibility that, for the first time in a long time, Massachusetts might have Senate representation by someone who isn’t a complete dillhole.

We can dream, can’t we? It may actually happen that the people of Massachusetts will decide that replacing an alcoholic manslaughter dodger with an Attorney General who set free a guy who raped a 23 month-old child is, um, a total f-ing embarrassment.

Or they may choose to continue doing things like John Kerry.

Either way, this is still WAY too close. If Minnesota judges allowed every crayon-scrawled ballot for Al Franken to be allowed imagine what will happen in Massachusetts.

It’s foot on the gas time for the Brown campaign and anyone helping it. Keep getting the word out!

Reporting from Beirut – Yemeni security forces killed two suspected Al Qaeda militants today in an operation that also left two alleged fighters wounded, the nation’s official Saba news agency reported.

Amid fears of Al Qaeda attacks against foreign targets, Japan, Germany and France closed their embassies to the public in Yemen a day after the U.S. and Britain ordered their missions closed.

“Groups claiming to be part of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula have issued threats against foreign representatives in Yemen,” French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero told reporters in Paris, according to Agence France-Presse.

Yemen has come under scrutiny following an alleged attempted by a Nigerian on Christmas Day to down a Northwest Airlines flight en route to Detroit from Amsterdam. Authorities say the suspect claimed to have received orders from a cleric in Yemen.

Western officials have vowed to step up aid for the impoverished country, which is already fending off a violent rebellion in the north and a separatist movement in the south. Dozens of nations are scheduled to take part in a Jan. 28 donors conference in London meant to boost Yemen’s security and bolster its economy.

I’d much rather see Western countries fork over money for this effort rather than pay Bangladesh a small fortune because they’ve watched “An Inconvenient Truth” too many times and fear all the pants-wetting will make the country disappear.

I only mentioned amnesty because the White House is bringing it up as a way to make sure the president isn’t lying when Obamacare begins covering <strike>undocumented lights in the universe</strike> illegal aliens.

You see? All the president has to do is wave the Scepter of the Unicorn King, POOF! the aliens into legal status and suddenly he’s doing everyone a solid.

These are truly magical times we’re living in. In fact, President Obama said in a recent interview that he’s considering taking a teaching position at Hogwarts when he leaves office in 2012.

To reiterate: in order to get one pretty unpopular piece of legislation passed, the Dems are resuscitating an even more unpopular idea as selling point to usher it through.

If only they believed in the representative republic as much as they do global warming.

A Nigerian man tried to ignite an explosive device aboard a trans-Atlantic Northwest Airlines flight as the plane prepared to land in Detroit on Friday, in an incident the United States believes was “an attempted act of terrorism,” according to a White House official who declined to be identified.

Usually “declined to be identified” is used in questionable or bombshell situations that people want cover from after bringing them to light.

Here we have a guy trying to blow up a plane. I’m not getting the nuance.

Federal officials said the man wanted to bring the plane down.

If by “federal” you mean “Republican” I can continue to pretend the New York Times is a news organization.

“This was the real deal,” said Representative Peter T. King of New York, the ranking Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, who was briefed on the incident and said something had gone wrong with the explosive device, which he described as somewhat sophisticated. “This could have been devastating,” Mr. King said.

I’m with ya bro.

The incident is likely to lead to heightened security during the busy holiday season.

Likely?!?!?

Who does the American public have to blow to get some responsible protection around here?

“We’re trying to ascertain exactly what he had and what he thought he was doing, but our sense is he wanted to wreak some havoc here and was attempting to do just that,” the official said. “Whether at the end of the day he had the ability to do that is what I think we’ll be able to pull together over the next several days as we investigate this.”

The “official” is-SHOCKER!-one of the federal variety.

That’s the only way you can make “explosives+jet fuel”=”wreak some havoc”.

A senior Department of Homeland Security official said that the materials Mr. Abdulmutallab had on him were “more incendiary than explosive,” and that he had tried to ignite them to cause a fire as the airliner was approaching Detroit.

Once more, with feeling: “fire…jet fuel…”.

A federal counterterrorism official who asked not to be identified said Mr. Abdulmutallab was apparently in a government law enforcement-intelligence database, but it is not clear what extremist group or individuals he might be linked to.

And people want these diploids in charge of health care.

President Health Care was too busy basking in his own glow to care.

The real world is full of misogynist jihadi idiots who want to kill us because we’re…you know…us.

The Obama world is full of insurance companies WHO WANT TO CHARGE YOU FOR PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTH CARE.

You can clearly see who the real enemies are.

If you are a real American.

Senate Democrats are celebrating this morning for passing their version of health care reform, but voters still don’t like much of what they see.

At the start of the week, 41% of voters nationwide were in favor of the health care bill, but 55% were opposed. This is the fifth straight week with support for the legislation between 38% and 41%. Rasmussen Report is continuing to track support for the plan on a weekly basis and will have new numbers on Monday morning. Part of the opposition comes from a general skepticism about Congress, rather than specific policy issues.

But there are specific policy issues that also raise challenges as the Democrats try to pass a final version of this legislation in early 2010.

The devil, of course, is in those specifics (I know, you thought it was behind Pelosi’s mask). This “most transparent congress and administration ever” tried to keep the details from us as long as possible but they couldn’t do it forever because this isn’t Soviet Union-The Sequel.

Yet.

Fifty-four percent (54%) say taxpayer-funded health insurance should be prohibited from covering abortions, up six points from September. The House version of the legislation includes such a prohibition, but the Senate version does not.

When the president excoriated people for making false claims about health care reform he must have been referring to some version of it that he personally scrawled on a napkin, not the steaming pile of legislative dung that he’s so proud of today.

Yes, there’s a little journey this federal steamroller has to take before it can officially begin “helping” in that ever-so-unhelpful federal way.

They’re going to have to bring in a team of euphemism experts to make sure the president is able to say he didn’t lie about virtually everything.

On another hot-button topic, 87% believe that before anyone receives government health care subsidies, they should be required to prove they are legally in the United States. President Obama and congressional Democrats insist the health care plan will not cover illegal immigrants, the legislation does not require proof of citizenship for those seeking taxpayer-funded health care help.

Only eight percent (8%) of voters oppose the requirement for proving that recipients of health care subsidies prove they are in the country legally. Public attitudes on this point have changed little since September.

I can’t purchase decongestants at CVS using my own money without giving them my driver’s license but, hey, if the government is paying for it there’s no reason to quibble over such technicalities.

As with the death panel/advisory board semantic hand-job, the president can stake a claim to some sort of veracity only if he ignores the real application of the law once it’s passed. Obama’s pathological arrogance is infusing the Democratic party at the moment. They believe that the American people are stupid enough to fall for “We didn’t say you could but we didn’t say you couldn’t <wink, wink>.”

Whether we’re able to derail this nightmare or not, President Obama and his federally hyperactive minions are going to find one thing out. This merry band of idiots they believe themselves to be the divinely appointed rulers of have long memories.

And we can read.

wordpress plugins and themes

Well, he has been promising us a Christmas present.

Republican candidates now have an eight-point lead over Democrats, their biggest lead of the year, in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.

The new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate while 36% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Support for GOP candidates held steady over the past week, but support for Democrats slipped by a point.

The simple truth is this: the closer this federally intrusive, probably unconstitutional, health care reform nightmare gets to being a reality, the more the American public wakes up. Democrats can whine about Republicans blocking them (can any of them do simple math?) but the they’re taking a lot of heat from the left flank now too.

When the progressives are whining about tax increases you know that the realities of this bill are going to have some long-term “come back to bite them in the ass” consequences for all who signed onto it. We’re already finding out that-hey!-there is a too-powerful rationing panel that sounds eerily like what Sarah Palin has been describing all along. They’re calling it a board, however, so they can at least remain semantically correct in saying that it doesn’t exist.

This bill is so putrid that the Dems had to pull the double-whammy of using the “For the children…” argument and trotting out Ted Kennedy so often I thought they were going to exhume him for the finale.

It is beginning to look like even those caught up in the Cult of Obama can get a little vertigo when he’s about to march them off a cliff. As many of us over here on the unhinged right have been saying all along, Barack Obama is all about Barack Obama. If you jumped on the Hope & Change bus thinking that your best interests would ever trump his give me a call from under the bus.

wordpress plugins and themes

Remember, this is all about hatred for a black man.

We sort of knew that it would be the progressive lefties who would reach for the razor blades first. They were the most ga-ga eyed in the Hope & Change Kool-Aid line because they finally had a president who spoke their language. In their minds, it was a foregone conclusion that the president was going to turn the U.S. into Denmark-on-the-Pacific before the Nondenominational December Workers Respite.

Alas, even Barack Obama gets temporarily bogged down in the mundane pragmatism that anchors so many of us when we get a big people’s job.

That, and he’s always been more concerned about his legacy than actually helping anyone. As such, he’s willing to sign off on any piece of crap health care reform, even if it screws the majority of Americans.

So the poor dears on the far left are going to petition the elected leader of a government that may be the least responsive to its constituents in the history of this alleged representative republic.

Good luck with that.

Still, it’s interesting to find points of agreement even among the most ideologically disparate factions.

When Barack Obama announced his health care plan in 2007, he said insurance premiums for a family of 4 would be cut by $2500. This plan will see premiums increase $1000 each year.

“Racists!”

Obama said “coverage without cost containment will only shift our burdens, not relieve them.” This plan does nothing to meaningfully contain spiraling health care costs.

“Obstructionists!”

Obama said “it’s time to let the drug and insurance industries know that while they’ll get a seat at the table, they don’t get to buy every chair.” This plan includes a deal between the White House and PhRMA that guarantees there will be no negotiation for Medicare prescription drug prices.

Obama said he’d go after the drug companies who “sell the same exact drugs here in America for double the price of what they charge in Europe and Canada.” But the White House deal not only doesn’t do that, it bans the reimportation of cheaper drugs from Canada.

There’s so much agreement going on here I feel like I might need a shower.

I wonder how long they’ve known he was full of crap?

Strongest. Kool-Aid. Ever.

But we have our first group of sober people checking in from the left fringe.
