There were a couple clips that would have been included here but I’m taping on Tuesday next week (headed to CPAC) so I held them in reserve. As such, we only have a few.

This is a fuzzy vid but gets the point across. CNN’s Soledad O’Brien nearly dislocates her shoulder patting herself on the back for getting Mitt Romney to say something ridiculous in a post-Florida speech. She shouldn’t have-despite running for president nonstop for six years, Romney still isn’t very good at it. Yet we keep hearing he’s the most ready for prime time and a general election. Ugh. That’s why my support is going here. But back to the clip. O’Brien is high-fived by CNN’s Oompa-Loompa in-residence, Roland Martin. Why? Because they got to spend a couple of minutes bashing a Republican. On the network that prides itself on being “centrist”. Yeah…no.

As I pointed out in this PJ Tatler post, we should just strap ourselves in for a pants-wetting, playground attack from the Democrats this year. The None-Too-Reverend Jesse Jackson picks up the criticism=demonization garbage meme and draws the inevitable conclusion that it will result in assassination. Because this is the first president ever to be harshly criticized. Remember that, history buffs.

We’ll finish up this week with one of Morning Joe’s occasional lucid moments. The topic? Romney’s WEALLLLLLLLTH! Money is bad only when Republicans have it. And stuff.

Thanks for watching!

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Here Rick Santorum addresses the MSM double standard about which politicians get defended and which don’t.

Here the unfailingly pretentious, almost always wrong Katrina vanden Heuvel spouts some DNC talking points and gets her skinny you-know-what handed to her by George Will.

In this clip, CNN’s John King is dumb enough to revisit his stupid debate lead-off question to Newt Gingrich about the rumors his bitter ex was peddling to ABC. Newt then explains to King why he was, once again, a hack idiot for bringing the subject up. Note to Obama sycophants: this is what “professorial” actually looks like.

We’ll finish this week with a couple of non-video links.

The first is proof that even I will say something nice about President Obama. The man certainly knows his target audience.

And we finish with a great post from Commentary Magazine (which I can’t recommend highly enough) which counters more of the brain-dead Left’s “dog whistle” garbage.

The understandable rush to whip together an anti-Romney coalition in the GOP heated up with Rick Perry’s announcement that he’s leaving the race and endorsing Newt Gingrich. While an imperfect alliance, it is at least a bit more genuine than Jon Huntsman’s about-face when he dropped out to suck up to the Romney camp.

A far more troubling endorsement seems to be in the offing, with the rumor that some Tea Party “leaders” are going to announce support for Gingrich.

Having been involved in this movement since Day One, I’ve always intensely disliked anyone speaking for it as a “leader”. People who do so are playing into the progressive lie that this isn’t a true grassroots organization.

The glaring problem, of course, is that Newt Gingrich is not exactly standard Tea Party fare. In fact, if you’d told anyone in the movement a year ago that there would be a groundswell of support for him now the laughter would have punctured your eardrums.

In a Weekly Standard piece written last month, I was asked about some of the shifting attitudes towards the former Speaker. What ended up in the article made it seem as if I could quickly jump aboard Team Newt. The overall idea I was trying to convey was that “anybody but Romney” fervor could drive people to do strange things. And that anti-Mitt sentiment would probably be the only reason I’d get behind Newt, I certainly wouldn’t pretend that we were ideologically simpatico.

The Tea Party movement risks some serious damage to a brand many people have worked hard to keep pure in the face of a barrage of distortions from the MSM, the Democrats (same thing as MSM, I know) and, yes, the GOP (Remember the Crist/Rubio primary, anyone?).

Early on, every Tea Party group would be contacted by GOP candidates hoping to hop on the bandwagon and speak at an event. For the most part, these candidates didn’t share the commitment to principles the Tea Party was fighting for and they were refused without much hesitation. Even at the local level, in races that didn’t have a lot of scrutiny, there was a purity test. And that played a big part in the successes of 2010.

Throwing that m.o. out the window during a fit of panic might do irreparable harm and actually doom the movement to the death that the MSM and Democrats are still working 24/7 to will upon it.

I’ve been asked by dozens of people in recent weeks why the Tea Party hasn’t had more influence on this presidential race after its wild success in the 2010 midterms. Simply put, this is still really a nascent movement. Yes, the first year and a half was spectacular but the training wheels have barely come off. We can ride this bike, but we’re not quite X Games ready yet.

There is a big difference between being able to help influence a congressional race and presidential race. MItt Romney and Newt Gingrich both had their sights on this race long before the birth of the Tea Party movement in February, 2009. That the Tea Party movement hasn’t had much influence in this particular presidential election isn’t surprising. In fact, for those who have been around politics for a while, it’s to be expected.

There is no real sound reason any Tea Party group or representative should endorse a candidate for president at all in this election. This smacks of a power-drunk, panicky reaction to the liberal “Tea Party is dead!” nonsense. Or blatant attention-whoring.

As an activist movement it (and its “leaders”) should concentrate its efforts where they can do some good. The Senate is finally in reach and the House majority needs to be strengthened. The movement is set up to help in these areas. Tea Party members also need to continue to take over the thoroughly dysfunctional GOP at the local level so they can move up the ranks and eventually help influence things on a larger scale.

What the movement doesn’t need is some “leaders” publicly engaging in the kind of political opportunism that it has vehemently eschewed from its inception.

This is the first in a series that may very well end up taking over this blog between now and November. I often think of things that I’d like to share on my biggest social media platform but they don’t fit the format, even if I use every abbreviation trick acceptable for Twitter. Also, I don’t like to use TwitLonger for anything but retweets that I think are important to share. Some ideas need context too and that requires more than one tweet. So I’ll just post those kinds of thoughts here and link to them on Twitter. This will also make them available for non-Twitter types who happen upon my blog. Think of it as outreach. By the way, you’re welcome Twitter.

This first one is an assessment I gave to a friend last night about the state of the Republican Party at this early point in the primary season:

We’ve already dropped the soap in the prison shower. The only question now is whether or not we’re going to bend over to pick it up.

As we head into what should prove to be a thoroughly brutal election year (I’ve had numerous friends contact me in recent weeks saying that they’re already worn out), I thought it best to fire up my blogging skills and add them to the arsenal I’ll use to combat the MSM in the next year.

For the near future I will be posting in a variety of places so I thought I’d give you a rundown of what and where all of this is happening.

This site will feature mostly long-form commentary, as well as the Kruiser Control bonus clips and links to any video efforts of mine.

My new site, No Pants Politics, will be primarily concerned with activism related links and campaign videos. It will also be filled with shorter posts, which I haven’t done much of in the past.

I will, of course, continue to write for the Bigs because that’s still the easiest way to annoy the bejesus out of a leftist.

You can also find me providing some content for the PJTatler and PJLifestyle sites.

All PJTV, blog and other content updates will be posted on my Facebook FAN page (not the regular page) which, if you love America, you should have “Liked” by now.

There, I’ve obligated myself. Accountability is a wonderful thing. It’s also a destroyer of sleep. But we’re heading into an election year and I will probably be too wired to sleep for most of it anyway.

Let us begin with some more painfully childish hysteria mongering from the climate change freaks. This follows the usual pattern: make up an authoritative sounding title (Director of Sustainability), talk about the latest Magic 8 Ball computer model predictions and try to scare the general public. This time, they’re threatening to take away your coffee with the made-up crisis.

Here is yet another “isolated incident” from one of the Occumorons. This idiot decided to go occupy a bank in Milwaukee because, of course, banks are the Death Star in what passes for the brains of the OWS crowd. Notice how enthralled the passersby are. While there is no official total yet, these “isolated incidents” of the Occumorons acting violently or stupidly now number in the thousands. (h/t Verum Serum)

Finally, a perfect illustration of what’s so annoying about Ron Paul supporters. Yes, there are some who are capable of conversation. Most just spit talking points like some bad political version of The Stepford Wives. Here, one engages Alec Baldwin as he visits Occupy Wall Street. The result? You’re not so annoyed by Alec Baldwin once you’ve had to listen to the Paulbot.

Not a lot of time for commentary today as I want to get these posted before taping because it hasn’t been working out well when I try to do them after.

First clip features the Whitest Guy On MSNBC (he just had his name legally changed to that) trying to tell Herman Cain that he’s just not black enough. And then Mr. Cain layeth down the smack…

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Second clip chronicles Andrew Breitbart’s trip through the Occupy L.A. hippies. I’ve been told all week that there’s no Big Labor involvement in this, um, movement. That would explain the moron with the SEIU ID badge stalking Breitbart.

I still don’t like hippies. Just putting that out there…

During a speech I gave last week for AFP Florida after the Orlando debate, I noted the increasingly desperate tone of the e-mails I’ve been receiving from Organizing For America. I said that they all seem to be written by a lover who knew it was about to be dumped and was clinging to my ankles as I was walking out the door. So, what should arrive in my inbox today but an e-mail from Michelle Obama that continues this theme. What’s different here is that they’re now asking for only three dollars as opposed to the five that they used to. I thought the brilliance of the Obama 2008 campaign with they weren’t asking for 50 or $100 all the time, they usually just asked for five. A campaign’s donor rolls increase significantly when you aren’t hitting them up for an amount that’s a week’s grocery money for many.

Now it seems that five is a little too much for the base that’s flying out the door, however. So it’s three dollars now. Soon it will be two. Then one. I fully expect to soon receive an OFA email titled “What’s under your couch cushions?”

Stephen –

Not everyone knows how to prepare for a dinner like this. As someone who’s eaten countless meals with my husband, I want to tell you the one thing to do if you’re selected to join him…

Just relax. Barack wants this dinner to be fun, and he really loves getting to know supporters like you.

I hope you’ll take him up on it before Friday’s deadline.

Will you donate just $3 today and be entered to have dinner with Barack?

These dinners mean a lot to Barack. They’re a chance for him to talk with a few of the people who are driving the campaign — and a chance for him to say thank you.

So come prepared to tell your story, and say whatever’s on your mind.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be there. Donate $3 or more today, before the September 30th deadline:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Dinner

Thanks,

Michelle
